Here is what others are saying about us!
As a student of Master Johnny Tsai and Tsai's Kung Fu for several years, I can not emphsize enough, how much my training has benefitted me. After a few years of training with Master Johnny, I was offered a job as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Department in the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.). Through the police academy, I consistantly excelled in both physical training and also "defensive tactics". I graduated the academy in the fall of 2005 and I was assigned to a high crime area in a very diverse section of the city. I can honestly say that the training I received from Tsai's Kung Fu has allowed me to come out 'on top' in a number of difficult encounters. In one situation, I believe it may have saved my life. Also, the skills I have learned at Tsai's have given me the knowledge that I can approach any given situation with confidence. Overall, Master Johnny and the staff at Tsai's Kung Fu are exceptional not only with their martial arts skills, but also with their skills in teaching.

I have now been training at Tsai's Kung Fu International for roughly one year, and to be quite honest, what started out as just a regular exercise, is now a pretty serious addiction. I have been an athlete all my life and I have never been in as good of shape as I am now. I have a problematic case of inflammation and arthritis throughout my body including my knees, hips, and back, and Kund Fu has been helping those problems. My doctors have commended me for my training in Kung Fu saying that if not for my efforts, I would not be as flexible and that my existing ailments would worsen. Since starting Kung Fu, I have been healthier, more confident, and very happy knowing that I have found a liife long practice. This would not be possible without the support of Master Johnny Tsai and his family and colleagues.

My Son is a new Student and LOVES IT!! He rushes to class after school and stays until closing. Within a week I noticed a difference in him. His whole attitude has changed. One night after class he stated he realizes he needs to help more around the house, wash his own clothes and not be so lazy. He takes numerous classes and really enjoys it. The instructors and staff are great! The instructors work well with students of all AGES!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The first day we visited we felt right at home. In fact my Son wanted to join immediately!! We actually signed him up that same night. I would highly recommend this school to everyone. In fact all ages take classes here. From small children to adults. Although it is a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, still discipline is maintained . The children are well behaved and encouraged to complete their homework in between or before classes. The instructors are highly motivated and always willing to help students during classes and after. I have visited other studios whereby although I am a parent, staff and instructors were very intimidating. Not so at this studio. The instructors are highly accredited but very approachable and eager to answer any questions or concerns parents or students may have. It's a great school and a great experience!!

"...Tsai's Kung Fu International teaches children self confidence and essential life and learning skills. "
The kung fu school (Tsai's Kung Fu) is one of my favorite places to be. I actually work to spend more time there, as many students do. The classes are just FUN. And this has everything to do with the awesome instructors. Master Johnny Tsai, for one, is an ideal teacher. He has a comprehensive knowledge of kung fu skills and can clearly and effortlessly convey that knowledge to his students, so that they can get it right. I never leave class feeling as if I haven't learned a lot or had a seriously deadly workout, or just been wildly entertained. I think Tsai's Kung Fu is a great place to learn kung fu, build a better body and have a great time while your doing it.

"In other words, Tsai is sort of the Charley Lau of martial arts. Like the famed baseball batting instructor, Tsai can watch a martial artist and point out changes that will radically improve performance"
What Tsai's Kung Fu has done for me: It has given me more discipline and patience. I had an ACL replacement, in other words I tore my knee up, then had it surgically repaired, but thru the help of Master Johnny Tsai and Master Xavier. who have taught me to mentally and physically strengthen my ailments normal physical therapy didn't do. I now have better balance overall my knee is much stronger now. Tsai's Kung Fu has also allowed my other half to become stronger as well. It has taught her to be able to defend herself in a time of need. The forms and exercises that are taught are some of the best I have ever experienced, there is no need to go to the health club, just using your own body weight is enough and Tsai's Kung Fu has taught me that. This is the way to go if you want overall body conditioning.

"The secrets of Chinese martial arts are taught today at Tsai's Kung Fu International. This exercise program can help anyone regardless of age or gender to live a healthier and happier life."
Being a student of Johnny Tsai's for 3 months I found that his classes helped me in several aspects. As a woman living in Chicago, it's important to feel secure, even if you're just walking down the street. These classes gave me the confidence and ability to use certian self defense techniques which I would recommend to everyone. Originally, I started the class to get back into shape which worked also, but I learned some valuable lessons as well. Fortunately, I haven't had to use them yet, but at least I now have the reassurance of knowing I am and will be prepared.

"... A million punches and kicks later, Su-Chen San became one of the most respected and admired shaolin chuan fa masters ever. The early '50s would find master Su teaching his most promising student, Tsai Chi Yuan. In the mid '60s the young shaolin sifu Tsai Chi Yuan brought the "Shaolin Chuan Fa Temple system" to the United States. Immediatley, the sifu was in great demand for teaching and seminar engagements."
I have been taking Martial Arts for four years, within that four years I have taken many styles. I have taken Tae kwon doe for a summer, obtained a blue belt in Hapkido, obtained an orange belt in Shidokan Karate, took Jui-Jitsui for six months, now I am taking classes at Tsai’s Kung Fu International. I am not an expert Martial Artist but I have seen many styles. I came to Tsai’s Kung Fu in January 2005 after taking a seven month break from Martial Arts due to lack of interest. I took Master Johnny’s trial lesson for $10 and was amazed at the attention to detail this instructor would give his students. Taking years of Martial Arts he was able to point out little flaws in my kicks and instruct me how to correct them. In addition he recognizes talent or areas in which you excel at as Martial Artist and will give you positive feedback.
Having been too a few gyms a punching a bag is great but let’s get real anyone can pound away on a punching bag but when that punching back grows legs and arms it’s a whole new ball game. During his class he will give you real experience on how to kick, punch, block, and avoid from being hit. The sparring drills are very practical for ring fighting and street defense. He will also let you try to hit him. Good Luck he is as fast lightning.
Don’t be intimidated if you want to avoid physical contact with other people this school has classes for everyone. There are many classes that don’t have physical contact. There are many forms classes; Wushu, Tai Chi, and so on.
Most schools won’t let you touch a weapon until you have become a high ranked individual of the fighting system. This school will start teaching you weapons your very first week of classes.
The reason I joined this school and will continue to attend are many reasons. They pay attention to your movements with great detail; basically teach you the right way the first time and won’t let you form bad habits. The amount of Martial Art experience in years the Instructors have and exhibit is amazing. There are many students there that have many years or martial arts experience as well. They will cater to your needs if you want to learn grappling they will teach grappling to you with private lessons and they won’t charge you extra as long as you are taking the lessons at the school. You can take weapons classes there, most places it takes years just to touch a weapon. They also have a lot of equipment at this gym; weapons, punching bags, and good free weights.
I love this place everyone is very humble. It’s very rare you get the macho attitude among the students.
If I were a parent I would definitely take my kid here this is the place to learn fundamentals and the place to become an expert martial artist.

Sifu Johnny's scope of knowledge and technique regarding the Shaolin Chuan Fa system is breathtaking. In some Kung Fu systems the mentality is to hold back some of the better conditioning techniques till you are very advanced or there for at least 3-5 years. Sifu Johnny holds back zero and will teach you everything you want to work on. For that reason my Iron Palm, Iron Pipe conditioning is much further along than I had experienced with other systems.

I have had the good fortune and rare opportunity of being trained by Master Waysun Johnny Tsai
in the martial art of Shaolin Kung Fu. Being the son of Grand Master John Tsai, who is one of the
highest level and most accomplished grand masters in the world and head of the Tsai Family Chuan Fa
Association, one would expect Master Tsai to be adept at the art of Kung Fu. What one would not expect
is the degree of expertise and inert ability to teach in such an organized and natural manner the art of
Shaolin Kung Fu. It’s equally amazing the level of understanding Master Tsai has of all the martial arts
and his ability to explain the differences in all their techniques and teach their history.
With every lesson I finish with Master Tsai, I leave with more knowledge and new techniques to use in self
defense. It truly amazes me the extraordinary abilites Master Tsai posesses and the ease he has in his
ability to teach those techniques. With every lesson I get something new to take home and put in my
self defense arsenal with the confidence that I have just learned more ways of defending myself.
All my life I was timid and afraid of physical conflict. Now with the confidence Master Tsai has given me
in my ability to defend myself, I find myself standing a little taller and just waiting for somebody to
challenge me. I am not afraid anymore.
